Breguet Experimentale 1, or "What Will Breguet Do?"
I can't put into words how much I miss the golden age of modern watchmaking: the era of chilling videos showcasing intricate (yet captivating) devices and functions, accompanied by meticulously crafted music that held your breath. These videos played a crucial role in my falling in love with watchmaking in the late 2000s and early 2010s, but they wouldn't exist without the right watch to match. Now, we proudly present our latest masterpiece—the Breguet Expérimentale 1—a cinematic vision that promises to recreate that era's glory. Watch the video below to learn more about this latest high-end Breguet timepiece. high quality fake watches After a while in this business, you start to trust your gut feeling. About a month ago, I reported on the "stunning 10Hz magnetic tourbillon Breguet 7225," seeing it as a harbinger of the brand's return to its peak and a renewed sense of individuality. In fact, this new Breguet Expérimentale 1 watch takes the 7225 a step further, being the first high-frequency (10Hz) tourbillon with a magnetic escapement, providing a constant magnetic force to the balance wheel. This Breguet Expérimentale 1 watch, named E001BH (more precisely, Breguet E001BH/S9/5ZV), draws inspiration from the Breguet 1252 demonstrator chronometer. This chronometer, sold to the British Regent in 1814, fully embodies its innovative spirit. Furthermore, it borrows aesthetic concepts from another classic created in 1820—the 3448 watch—and adopts its dial display and movement structure. In stark contrast, Breguet launched the 1747 watch in 1997 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Abraham-Louis Breguet's birth, while the Expérimentale 1 was launched to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Breguet watchmaking manufactory. Watches 1747, E001BH, and 3448 all feature a standard analog display. You may be drawn to the technical specifications rather than the brand's history, and I don't blame you. However, for Breguet, it's time to rediscover its founder and the spirit of the brand as a whole. This is not only because it's captivating, refreshing, impressive, and showcases Breguet's unique philosophy, but also because we've consistently emphasized the need for Breguet to recapture its former glory. Therefore, we should help the brand, and ourselves, rediscover the meaning of this. I think we all agree that the new Type XX watches are severely out of step with the brand's direction. Finally, let's continue: I don't expect every Breguet watch to be priced in the six or seven figures and equipped with a magical escapement, but I do hope it will produce more modern pieces inspired by the founder's creativity, combining technical prowess and design.fake luxury watches "What would Breguet do if he were alive?" I've been pondering this question for the past decade or so, especially in recent years, because it's both simple and perplexing. I believe the simple answer is that he will dedicate himself to developing something profoundly new to solve long-standing problems, issues, or performance bottlenecks. The challenge lies in accurately defining what this means. This requires keen insight to identify the most critical and important bottlenecks, as well as a tireless genius to utilize gear ratios, energy management, manufacturing processes, and perhaps some magical techniques to overcome them. As we discussed in previous articles, Breguet's magnetic escapement is not new; it was first applied to the Type XXII 3880 ST watch in 2010 and entered mass production two years later. Afterward, the technology disappeared for a time, but now it has made a strong comeback, and Breguet seems to have finally found the time and energy to elevate it to a level truly worthy of mass production. It's worth noting that between 2010 and 2025, we've seen many brands encounter difficulties in applying new technologies—Girard-Perregaux ultimately succeeded in mastering its constant-flow escapement, TAG Heuer successfully resolved its precision hairspring issues, while Frederique Constant (an excellent brand that releases several exquisite new products every year) apparently had to suspend the development of its integral escapement system. Countless examples exist, as 99.9999% of Swiss watch production utilizes century-old escapements and other technological solutions for two reasons: first, because they can be applied on a large scale; and second, because developing new escapements is extremely expensive, and the actual performance of the new solution may not be better than the existing one (and may even be worse). Getting off-topic. Breguet possesses this "magnetic pivot regulator," and it's finally in use. Despite the ostentatious value of the Expérimentale 1 watch, Breguet remains one of the least popular watch brands in the cryptocurrency world. The cryptocurrency community skipped it entirely, opting instead for the FP Journe! I'm getting off-topic again. The Breguet Expérimentale 1 stands out among many tourbillon fake swiss watches, boasting an operating frequency four times higher—you guessed it. Tourbillons typically operate at a leisurely 2.5 Hz, while modern 4 Hz tourbillons are rare, and 10 Hz is virtually impossible. This is important because the escapement's operating frequency determines the tourbillon's rhythm. The higher the frequency, the more compact and frequent the tourbillon cage's rotation. "Tourbillon" means "whirlwind" in French, and a smoother operation perhaps better reflects this meaning. Consider this passage: "The Expérimentale 1 watch is officially certified by Breguet as belonging to the 'scientific' category, meaning it guarantees an error of no more than +/- 1 second over 24 hours." We discussed the potential advantages and disadvantages of Breguet's official certification in article 7225 (linked above) twice, so please read it, so we won't repeat it here. We just want to say that if Breguet wants to gain the trust of the watchmaking world, simply inserting a paragraph stating they have this certification and adding a "'scientific' category" is far from sufficient. Oh, and if you're going to call it that, you should remove the quotation marks, because "scientific" and "scientific" can be two completely different concepts—in my opinion, the Expérimentale 1 is more like the former. In response, Breguet stated, "The balance spring is made of silicon, the fixed fourth wheel is made of LIGA (NiP12) alloy, and other components are made of titanium or nickel-gauss alloy." He added, "The escapement structure is also quite unique. Between the two escape wheels equipped with magnetic rails, there is an intermediate stop wheel to ensure that the escapement will not jump unexpectedly." Ironically, the Breguet Expérimentale 1 watch seems completely incomprehensible. As a masterpiece of movement manufacturing (if the daily error is -1/+1 second), such watches are indeed exceptionally high-performing, but often end up as a tool to showcase their exquisite craftsmanship, almost (or even completely) neglecting their original function: clearly and legibly displaying the time. The regulator display—separating the hours, minutes, and seconds so that the regulator can read the time more easily and accurately, and adjust the watch's accuracy according to the reference time indicated by the regulator clock—was designed to be clearer and easier to read than a regular dial, not more difficult to read. The Breguet Expérimentale 1 watch breaks with convention by displaying the time in seconds, minutes, and hours. This is actually quite reasonable, as the core of a standard analog watch lies in its accuracy down to the second. The aforementioned watch No. 3448 also uses the same design. Similarly, the 1820 pocket watch and this 2025 timepiece both use intermittent minute markers instead of continuous seconds—which also hinders the legibility of all indications. fake Jacob & Co. Astronomia Casino However, the crux of the matter lies in the color and shape of the hands: the slender blued steel hands on the three dials blend seamlessly with the dials, seemingly intentionally. It's worth noting that all three hands point precisely to and slightly dip onto the dial. If the design of Breguet's new watch fails to achieve this, then those responsible must be publicly shamed (as a tribute to Abraham-Louis Breguet) and displayed outside the factory as a form of humiliation. If Breguet watches ever again feature short hands… then they should be immediately sent to the guillotine. The dial, or rather, its remaining portion, is an anti-reflective sapphire crystal disc, inlaid with various luminescent components, including the hour markers and even the ALD-treated blue "Expérimentale 1" lettering. Unfortunately, Breguet has not provided any photos to showcase the watch's potentially mesmerizing luminescence. This 18K "Breguet gold" case is 43.5 mm wide and 13.3 mm thick, a comfortable and well-proportioned size. Its exquisitely designed double-layered stepped fluted case sides showcase Breguet's classic style, standing the test of time. The 54-component case is water-resistant to 10 bar (100 meters) and comes with an elastic strap, making this watch suitable for various occasions; one could even say it was designed for wearing. The Breguet 7250 movement is 33.8 mm in diameter (15 lignes), 6.3 mm thick, and consists of only 266 parts. What's quite remarkable is its magnetic field resistance of only 600 gauss, while the escapement itself should have a magnetic field resistance of well over 15,000 gauss, as discussed in the article linked above. Even considering only a time-telling watch, the number of 266 parts is relatively small. It uses two series-connected mainspring barrels and is equipped with four blue (cool!) hairsprings, a structure reminiscent of Chopard's classic Quattro system introduced in 2000. The tourbillon consists of 74 parts and weighs only 0.60 grams (not the weight of any individual part), fully demonstrating why the tourbillon is so breathtaking in both construction and function. https://www.grand-watch.co |
